MUREM - El museo de ropa étnica de México te espera en Valladolid Yucatán
A unos pasos del centro de Valladolid se ubica un museo muy especial: MUREM.
El museo de ropa étnica de México es un proyecto de Tey Mariana Stiteler, una autodenominada “gringa yucateca” que disfruta de conocer México a través de las prendas tradicionales de sus pueblos.
Si tienes planeado visitar Valladolid Yucatán, haz un tiempo para conocer este museo.Y si… son tiempos de pandemia, pero oficialmente en el estado de Yucatán los museos inician operaciones el 14 de septiembre, así que ya puedes ir planeando tu visita.
Actualmente MUREM cuenta con una colección de más de 120 atuendos tradicionales mexicanos, además de muchas otras prendas sueltas, entre accesorios como sombreros y rebozos, blusas y faldas. Pero lo mejor es que visitar el museo es una experiencia muy personalizada, pues un guía te acompaña en el recorrido y te va contando detalles sobre las prendas para que realmente conozcas lo que hay detrás de cada pieza.
Aunque realmente quien está detrás de cada pieza es, sin duda, Tey Stiteler, pues este museo y esta colección existen gracias a ella y a su interés por los atuendos tradicionales de México. Es gracias a su dedicación y empeño que este museo está en operación, y es también gracias a su experiencia que el museo cuenta con un interesante programa educativo enfocado en las escuelas de la región.
Tey es una persona muy interesante, de sonrisa cálida y contagiosa. Gracias a su esfuerzo Valladolid cuenta ahora con un museo cuyo enfoque es la vestimenta. Su colección incluye varias prendas tradicionales yucatecas, desde hipiles de diferentes regiones de la península a trajes de gala antiguos que ya no se encuentran fácilmente.

Currently MUREM has a collection of more than 120 traditional Mexican outfits, in addition to many other loose garments, including accessories such as hats and shawls, blouses and skirts. But the best thing is that visiting the museum is a very personalized experience, since a guide walks you through the exhibition and tells you all the details about the garments, so that you really know what is behind each piece.
