The traditional neighborhoods in Valladolid Yucatan

Downtown

In the center of the city is the church of San Servacio, initially built facing west. After a murder was committed inside the church, the authorities decided to change it to its current location in 1706.

Downtown Valladolid is full of shops, restaurants, street vendors, and everything that makes you feel the Mexican town's real vibe. Something you cannot miss visiting is the Zaci Artisanal Market, located right in front of the plaza, where you can buy some regional crafts.

 

Barrio Sisal and Calzada de Los Frailes

The Sisal neighborhood was initially known as Sis-Ha (Fresh Water), a place where the Franciscans built a convent in honor of San Bernardino de Siena. This convent, one of the oldest in Mexico, was built from 1552 to 1560.

This convent has a beautiful cenote in its grounds, which was the source of fresh water for the monks, who grew vegetables, taught their religion, and encouraged human settlement.

Some of the attractions in this neighborhood are the shopping and fine dining on the Calzada de Los Frailes, a colorful street with restored colonial houses.

    I known about Yucatan. It is the best Mexican state. It is famous for its Mayan ruins, beaches, cenotes, and natural beauty. Last year I visited this place and see this beauty. Anyway, my father go to explore the tour package to niagara falls from new york with his friend.
